PESHAWAR: A delegation of Provincial Civil Service (PCS) officers met deputy speaker Dr Mehar Taj Roghani and finance minister Muzaffar Said who supported their struggle for acceptance of their demands related to promotions and postings.

The officers from the province and Fata continued their protest to press for their demands for the second consecutive day on Wednesday.

A statement issued here said that the matter was also raised in the cabinet meeting by the finance minister and deliberated by Sikander Sherpao and others.

The officers are demanding annulment of the job apportionment formula which distributes posts between the provincial and federal bureaucracy, promotions on all the vacant positions, executive allowance, the repatriation of about 100 officers on deputation, constitution of placement committee and withdrawal of transfers made by the former chief secretary.—Bureau Report
