PPP takes credit for exit from EU high-risk states list

LAHORE: The Pakistan People`s Party takes credit for removal of Pakistan from the European Union`s list of high-risk countries.

PPP Punjab acting president Rana Farooq Saeed and general secretary Syed Hassan Murtaza said here on Wednesday that the EU changed its policy as a result of effective diplomacy by party chairman Bilawal BhuttoZardari as the country`s foreign minister.

They said the change is a good omen for the traders exporting their goods to European countries.

Pakistan had been included in the EU list of high-risk countries in 2018.

The PPP leaders blame the `incompetent` government of the Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf for inclusion of the country in the list. They said the enlisting had put an unnecessary burden on the national economy and, thanks to the tireless efforts of the PPP chairman during the last few months, that additional conditions of European legal and economic operators would no longer apply to Pakistanis.
