BUNER: Another woman was killed in the name of honour in Goga Hissar village of Daggar on Tuesday night, taking the number of such deaths to three in the last eight days, police said.

The victim, 22, mother of two minor children, was allegedly shot dead by her brother-in-law inside her house. The culprit fled, SHO Daggar Khalid Khan said.

The police shifted the body to the district headquarters hospital, Daggar, for autopsy. Later, the body was handed over to family for burial.

The police officer said a case had been registered against the accused andinvestigation started.

SHO Khalid Khan said as per statements of the motherin-law and sister-in-law of the deceased, she was 1(illed over exchange of hot words with the alleged 1(iller.

But the police suspected she was killed for honour. He said the victim`s husband and father-in-law were in Malaysia. It is pertinent to mention here that this is the third incident of honour killing in Buner district during the last eight days.-Correspondent
