Policeman found dead at home

KARACHI: A police officer was found dead at home and a man was murdered while a labourer was electrocuted in different areas of the metropolis, according to police and rescue sources.

Police said the body of Assistant Sub-Inspector Ameer Ali, 45, was recovered from his house in New Golimar (Gulbahar) near Soneri Bank in Rizvia Society area on Friday evening. He was posted at Jauharabad police station.

The body was shifted to Abbasi Shaheed Hospital to ascertain the exact cause of death. Additional police surgeon Dr Mohammad Saleem said that apparently there were no torture marks on the body which was around three to four days old.

Murdered A young man was found murdered in Manzoor Colony area, according to rescue services of ficials.

They said the body of a man identified as Waqas Khalid, 34, was recovered from a house located on Street-10 in Sector-E of Manzoor Colony. His hands were tied, indicating the possibility that he had been murdered, said the of ficials.

Hailing from Sialkot, he had come to the city reportedly to meet a friend.

The body, which was around three to four days old, was shifted to Jinnah hospital to fulfil legal formalities.

A labourer was electrocuted in Gulshan-i-Maymar area, of f Superhighway.

Habib Gul, 28, was working at a place in Hindu Goth where cemented blocks were being prepared when he suffered electric shocks and died.
