LARKANA: Police on Monday claimed to have killed a dacoit actively involved in criminal activities in Karachi and some other districts of Sindh.

A statement issued from the Larkana SSP office said that Aalyan Abro was killed in an encounter late Sunday night at a section of Ratodero-Shahdadkot Road.

It said that Abro was among the suspects involved in the recent robbery in a jewelry shop in Resham Gali within the jurisdiction of the Market police station.

After checking the record of the suspect, it transpired that a number of cases were registered against him at Karachi`s Khwaja Ajmer Nagri, Surjani Town, Sachal and Shah Latif police stations, besides the Market and Naudero police stations of Larkana district, the statement said.

In a separate encounter, a suspected criminal was wounded and arrested, the Larkana police said.

They said the suspect, Misri Shah, was wanted by police in many criminal cases registered against him at different police stations of the district.
