LAHORE: The Punjab Revenue Authority (PRA) collected Rs168 billion against an upwardly revised target of Rs165 billion for the current fiscal and its performance gets even better if considered vis-a-vis the original target of Rs156bn.
According to provisional figures till June 28, the PRA collection stood at Rs168bn, which is 108 percent of the original target of Rs155.9bn and 101.5 per cent of the revised target.
According to PRA spokesperson, the authority expects substantial revenue collection in the last two days of the financialyear and hopes to end the year close to Rs170bn.
Earlier this year, PRA became the first provincial revenue collecting agency in the country to cross the psychological barrier of Rs150bn and the June collection has further strengthened its position. This is the third successive year in which PR A has surpassed its collection target. Earlier, the authority collected more than the assigned targets of Rs105bn and Rs125bn during the financial years 2019-20 and 2020-21, respectively.
The PRA spokesperson says this success has been achieved without resorting to any coercive actions, such as sealing of premises, attachment of bank accounts or collection of advance payments.
