TOKYO: Four North Korean Yak planes made a heavy attack on Suwon airfield, United States base 25 miles South of Seoul, today [June 29] wounding several United States soldiers and badly damaging a C-54 (Skymaster). Americans helping South Koreans to man anti-aircraft guns at the airfield shot down one of the attackers. With advancing Communist troops only seven miles away, the walled city of Suwon was preparing for an attack expected shortly.
