LAHORE: A woman who killed her friend by throwing acid on him was arrested by the Lodhran Crime Control Department (CCD) on Sunday.
The CCD had earlier registered a case against the woman under section 336-B of the PPC on June 19.
Abid of Bahawalnagar, in his complaint, said that he had been working at a textile mill in Lodhran for the last three years and was living in a rented house in the city.
He said that he had developed a relationship with his landlady which continued for three years. He said that he left the rented house as he had to go to his native village for a few months.
He said he received a call from his former landlady and went to meet her. He alleged that she threw acid on his face and body when he reachedthehouse.
The complainant died at the Nishtar`s burn unit on June 25.
The CCD police arrested the woman onSunday who confessed to throwing acid on Abid.
ENCOUNTER: The CCD Multan claimed to have killed an alleged inter-district robber in an encounter in Lodhran early on Sunday.
According to details, CCD team was present in Pattan Kot Korra Jhand to arrest an alleged robber involved in several robberies and dacoities in Multan, Bahawalpur and other districts.
The team signalled three motorcycle riders to stop for checking but they opened fire.
The team retaliated and searched the area after the firing stopped and found one of the motorcyclists lying unconscious.
The injured was taken to the hospital where the doctors pronounced him dead on arrival.
The deceased was identified as Sajid alias Guddola who was involved in injuring a prison police constable in Bahawalpur and a citizen in Jalalpur Pirwala in Multan during different robberies.
The team also recovered a 30-bore pistol from the scene.
