Pakistan women qualify for final

KARACHI, July 29: Pakistan women team recorded a formidable nine-wicket victory against hosts Ireland in the semifinal of the ICC Women`s World Twenty20 qualifier on Monday in Dublin and has qualified for the tournament that will be played in Bangladesh next year.

Hosts Ireland batted first in the match and put on board a measly total of 65 runs losing all of their wickets in 19.5 overs.

Kim Garth played an unbeaten innings of 38 runs as none of her team-mates reached double figures.

Sadia Yousuf bowled lethally and captured four wickets.

Pakistan women in response easily reached the target in 14.1 overs with nine wickets in hand.

Opener Javeria Khan played an unbeaten knock of 34 runs.

Sadia received the player of the match award for her fourwicket haul.

Pakistan will play Sri Lanka in the final on Wednesday.-PPI
