21 cops fired over absence during CM`s visit

SARGODHA: As many as 21 police officials, including an inspector, an assistant sub-inspector (ASI), two head constables, 16 constables, and one woman constable, have been dismissed from service for allegedly being absent during the chief minister`s visit to Sargodha.

Aninquirywas conducted by SPInvestigation Javed Akhtar Jatoi on the directions of the district police officer (DPO).

The investigation concluded that the personnel not only absented themselves from VIP duty but also allegedly misbehaved with the public. Following the report, departmental action was taken, resulting in their dismissal from service.

ACCIDENT: Ayoung man was killed and another seriously injured when their motorcycle collided with a speeding dumper near Sial Mor, close to the Laksian Toll Plaza on the Sargodha-Lahore Road.

According to police and rescue sources, the incident involved a motorcycle and a dumper truck. The victims were identified as 29-yearold Imran Afzal Janhaq of Kalyan village in Kot Momin and 14-year-old Danish Yasin of Chhanna Muhammad Qazi.

Both were critically injured and shifted to the DHQ Teaching Hospital in Sargodha.

Police have launched an investigation into the incident.
