LAHORE: Electricity workers held a protest rally against privatisation and price hike on Tuesday.
Addressing the rally held under the auspices of the All Pakistan Wapda Hydro Electric Workers Union, secretary generalKhurshid Ahmad demanded the government review the decision of privatisation ofprofitable electricity companies besides raising wages and pension.
He urged the prime minister to take steps to stop the tragicfatalaccidents of the electricity line staff and lift the ban on recruitment.
The protesting workers were carrying banners and national flags in support of their demands.
The rally was also addressed by Haji Younas, Osama Tariq, Rana Shakoor, Muzaffar Mateen and Mehar Jameel.
