IT seems our society is so static that it has not moved an inch in the last 57 years.
While rummaging through an old file in which I used to paste newspaper articles of interest, I came across my letter which was published in these columns on June 23, 1960, under the caption `Clifton beach`.
The condition of the beach is the same about which I had lamented 57 years ago unkempt, dirty, rampant commercial activity, etc, all over the place.
The Clifton Cantonment Board, which manages the beach, is so grossly incompetent in discharging its duty that I have little hope to see any improvement before I fade out.
