I FELT frustrated when I recently received for the second time extra units billed by K-Electric. The bill for August had meter reading of 3028 units, dated Aug 8, while when I took the reading on Aug 10, it was 2998 units. This simply means excessive billing of about 40 to 50 units.
Likewise, for September, the meter reading on the bill was 3348, dated Sept 9, while the meter had 3300 units when I took the reading the very next day. It is overbilling of 48 units. Is this justice? This is not all. KE also sends bills when the bill payment deadline is so near that it sometimes is not possible for the consumer to pay the bill on time. When Eidul Azha was approaching fast, KE didn`t extend the deadline for bill payment despite knowing well that consumers will not be able to pay the billon this occasion because ofalready beingundernnancialburden.
This is also a unique tactic to mint money through late payment surcharge.
I request the Sindh governor, Nepra and the Sindh chief justice to take notice of KE`s exploitation of consumers.
