BANKS should ensure that long advertisements must not be played at ATM booths. The withdrawal of money should be a quick procedure, keeping in view the security of the person drawing the cash.
ATM booths are not supposed to be places to stay in for more than the cashwithdrawal time period, which should be minimised. Also, the banks should ensure regular maintenance of the machines installed.
Some of the machines have faulty keys resulting in double pressing. The card is sometimes swallowed if the machine gets hung and the keys do not function properly.
The State Bank of Pakistan should take immediate notice of these problems and issue directives to all banks.
