MARDAN: A man and his two minor daughters were among four persons killed and 12 others injured when a gas cylinder fitted to a rickshaw exploded near Darab Mohallah in Jaj Bazaar here on Tuesday.
The Recue 1122 officials said they rushed to the spot after getting information about the blast and shifted the injured and the bodies to the Mardan Medical Complex Hospital.
The hospital sources said two out of the 12 injured persons were in precarious condition.
The blast occurred in the evening when people were busy in shopping.
Meanwhile, a woman and her four-year-old daughter were killed when a fire erupted inside their house located on the MardanMayar Road on Tuesday.
The Recue 1122 and Hoti police station officials said the wife of Irfan and his daughter died instantly. The rescue officials took the bodies to the District Headquaners Hospital, Mardan, for fulfilling medico-legal requirements.
The police launched investigations into the blast as reason for the fire was not known.
