Young doctors call off boycott of OPDs at CMCH after three days

LARK ANA: The Young Doctors Association (YDA) called of f three days of boycott of central OPD at Chandka Medical College Hospital on Thursday in the wake of successful talks with divisional administration and other stakeholders held at Commissioner`s Secretariat a day before.
Dr Raja Lakhir, the central deputy secretary of YDA, confirmed the boycott had been ended and normalcy had returned the hospital on Thursday.
The YDA leaders were demanding security and registra-tion of FIR against those who had attacked and injured Dr Junaid Raza Sandano after the death of a snake-bite patient during treatment and later stormed medical superintendent`s office.
However, an FIR was registered with Civil Lines police station on a complaint of Dr Sandano under Sections 324, 427, 306/2, 148, 149 PPC and 6/7 ATA late on Wednesday.
InayatAliUmrani,PPP-ShaheedBhuttoleader,Mohammad Ali Umrani, Mohammad Sharif Umrani and 20 to 25 unidentified persons were nominated in the FIR.
The complainant alleged the suspects along with others had injured him with iron rods during duty in the casualtydepartment of the CMCH in the presence of Dr Amjad Ali Abro and dispenser Nadeem Magsi. They also attacked and ransacked MS`s office.
Another FIR was registered on behalf of state on a complaintlodged by assistant sub-inspector Mushtaque Chandio under Sections 341, 353, 506/2, 147, 148, 149 PPC and 6/7 ATA against 100-150 persons.
The complainant alleged that on Sept 24 the suspects protested at SSP chowk and blocked traffic. Even an ambulance was not allowed to carry patients into the hospital, he said. When they were asked to disperse they pelted police with stones and issued them threats, said the FIR.
