BAHAWALPUR: Over 200 students appearing in the Medical and Dental Colleges’ Admission Test (MDCAT) at the auditorium of the Baghdadul Jadid campus of the Islamia University (IUB) on Sunday were expelled from the exam centre after they failed to produce mandatory original copies of CNIC/B-form.
The students had brought photo copies despite clear instructions by the University of Health Sciences over its website. They assembled at the IUB main entrance and blocked the Hasilpur Road for hours. Weeping uncontrollably, girls blamed the UHS for keeping them in dark about change in rules.
As many as 3264 candidates appeared in exam in Bahawalpur. Students said an hour into the exam, supervisory staff and invigilators started checking their CNICs/B-forms and expelled those who had copies.
They said candidates who managed their original form B through their families were not allowed to re-enter the hall. They claimed the UHS SMS for the fresh exam did not carry any instruction in this regard. — Correspondent
