Safdar`s speech

2017-10-30
RECENTLY Mohammad Safdar, an MNA from the PML-N, attacked the Ahmadi community on the floor of the National Assembly, calling for a complete ban on their induction into government and military service.

This is discrimination and against the teachings of Islam. This must not be tolerated at any cost. Our constitution guarantees equal rights to all its citizens irrespective of religion, caste or creed.

The maiden speech of our founding f ather in the Constituent Assembly on Aug 11, 1947, should be displayed in our parliament. The Quaid said: `You are free, free to go to your temples, you are free to go to your mosques or to any other places of worship in this state of Pakistan. You may belong to any religion or caste orcreed that has nothing to do with the business of the state. We are starting in the days when there is no discrimination, no distinction between one caste or creed and another. We are starting with this fundamental principle that we are all citizens and equal citizens of one state.

I would request the speaker of the house to hand him this speech of our Quaid. Stop discrimination. All Pakistanis have equal rights.
