`Equip youth with modern education`

TAXILA: The participants ofthe second board of governors` meeting of Sir Syed Education Foundation on Sunday stressed the need for equipping the youth with modern education to meet the emerging challenges.

The board of governors` session, which was held at a local hotel, was presided over by Dr Sarfraz Khan, the patron of the Area Study Centre at the University of Peshawar.

Speakers at the meeting said it was time the youth safeguarded the country against negative cultural values storming from the West besides preparing to meet the challenges in the field of science and technology.

They said the establishment of the Anglo Mohammadan School by Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the need of that time. Sir Syed validated the importance of scientific and English education besides the religious one for Muslims which gave birth to a new generation of Muslims intellectuals in India. They said the youth should be equipped with modern education to meet the emerging challenges.

The foundation, they added, was working on the same ideology and had set up six campuses to impart education to the students. Correspondent
