Journalist`s suspected killer sent to jail on remand

HARIPUR: A local journalist`s suspected killer was sent to the jail here on Monday on judicial remand.
Hamayun Iqbal along with his brother, Ali Sher, was named in the Sohail Khan murder case registered by the Hattar police. Hamayun was arrested in Chaman area of Balochistan before the police took him to Haripur and secured two days physical remand from a local court.
Investigation officer of the police sub-inspector Habibur Rehman produced the suspect before the judicial magistrate on the expiry of physical remand. The judge sent him to Haripur jail on 14 days judicial remand.
Meanwhile, the police said the other suspect, Ali Sher, was arrested in Karachi and was kept in a local jail on judicial remand.
They said the suspect would be shifted to Haripur in few days after fulfilment of procedural formalities.
TRAFFIC WARDEN KILLED: A traffic warden was killed when a speeding tractor trolley hit his motorcycle near Qureshi Mor on Serae Nehmat Khan Road here on Monday morning. The police said the incident occurred as Ghulam Mustafa was on the way to Haripur city for work.
They said they had seized the tractor trolley after its driver fled after the incident.
The police said the body was shifted to the DHQ Hospital, Haripur, for postmortem. The police have taken into custody the tractor trolley that was carrying no registration No plate.
ACCIDENT CLAIMS LIFE: A minor boy died after being run over by his father`s tractor in Mera Ali Khan village here on Monday. The police said the incident occurred as Mohammad Salim, 8, fell off the tractor, which was driven by his f ather in his field. Correspondent
