Three Kohat cops demoted for corruption, negligence

KOHAT: District police officer Wahid Mehmood on Monday demoted three of ficials and sent them to quarter guard after receiving complaints of corruption and negligence in duty against them.
He sent two moharars andareadertoDSP Saddar circle to quarter guard for 15 days each and ordered departmental inquiry against them.
The DPO during a visit to police stations in Bilitang, Jarma and Mohammad Riaz Shaheed also found the record incomplete and conditions unhygienic.
Meanwhile, the city police arrested two Afghan refugees running internet cafes for downloading obscene films to the young people.
The city police SHO af ter monitoring the cafes for a couple of days on complaints raided them on Monday and arrested Rehmatullah and Ehsanullah along with computer devices, USBs with hundreds of obscene films.
They were presented in court where judge sent them to prison for one month.
Also, the district police officer chaired a high level meeting on Monday and asked the circle officers to discharge their duties with more responsibility under the Police Act, 2017. He said where the act had given them extra powers it had also increased their responsibilities towards good policing and service of the people.
He asked them to read the Act to know about their new duties and work in close coordination with other departments and the administration.
REFUSAL CASES COVERED: The district administration covered hundreds of chronic refusal cases of measles during the vaccination campaign through holding jirgas and sent three men to prison for not allowing their children to get the vaccine.
A statement issued on Monday said on the last day of the 12-day measles vaccination campaign assistant commissioner Captain retired Abdur Rehman and other officials resolved about 350 refusal cases through the intervention of elders of respective areas The deputy commissioner had set the target for the health authorities and the administration to cover more than 350 cases at all costs, otherwise legal action would be taken against the parents.
