Principal, teacher booked for corporal punishment

HARIPUR: The police booked a school principal and teacher for allegedly subjecting a girl student to corporal punishment in Khalabat Township here on Monday.
Waheed Khan of Khalabat Township Sector No 4 told the police that his daughter, 10th grader at a private school, suffered psychiatric problems after principal Abid Khan and teacher Adiga Bibi severally beaten her up on Oct 16 for unidentified reason.
He said his daughter remained admitted to the psychiatry ward of the Ayub Medical Complex, Abbottabad, thereaf ter.
The police registered a case against the principal and teacher under Section 13/34 of the Child Welfare Protection Act, 2010.
They said the medical examination wouldsuggest if the girl developed psychological problems after being subjected to corporal punishment or she was already suffered from them.
The accused have secured pre-arrest bail from a local court and are reportedly pressuring the complainant for reconciliation.
When contacted, the principal denied the incident and insisted that the schoolchild was under treatment for psychiatric problems and had been on leave for several days.
KIDNAPPED: A teenage girl was kidnapped in Mian Pir Dad village here on Monday.
Zeenat Bibi told the police that Juma Khan entered her house with two unidentified men and took away her 17-year-old daughter.
The police booked the suspects under Section 365-B of CrPC and began investigation.
However, no arrests were made until night.

The police said Aksar Zaman of Amgah Kala Katha area was gunned down near Tarkati village by two masked men riding a motorcycle when he was going to Ghazi Bazaar in his van.
The family of the deceased didn`t name anyone in the FIR.
INJURED: Four people were injured, two of them critically, when a car hit a motorcycle near Khanpur dam here the other day.
The police said three friends from Taxila were on the way to Khanpur dam for picnic when their motorcycle collided with a car while overtaking a truck.
The three, including Shah Zain, Abdul Rehman and Sarfraz, and car driver Faizan suffered injuries and were shifted to the Tehsil Headquarters Hospital. Shah Zain and Abdul Rehman were referred to the Wah Cantonment Hospital due to critical injuries.
