LAHORE: Advocate Anwarul Haq Pannu has denied helping officers of the Punjab Highway Department escape from the Lahore High Court after rejection of their balls in an embezzlement case lodged by the AntiCorruption Establishment (ACE).

In a statement, the advocate said: `I was not present at the scene during the alleged incident, rather I condemn such acts.

Earlier this week, a group of lawyers were alleged to have helped four ofhcers of the highway department to avoid arrest by the ACE who also threatened some journalists against covering the incident.
