LAHORE: Chief Secretary Naveed Akram Cheema on Saturday said the administration had ensured the sale of petroleum products at new rates with effect from Nov 30 midnight and would take stern action against those involved in overcharging.

On the instructions of the chief minister, he presided over a meeting after reduction in the prices of petroleum products, directing the commissioners and DCOs toensure their unhindered supply from oil depots to petrol pumps in their respective districts.

He ordered the departments concerned to ensure reduction in transport fares and prices of other edible items for the economic benefit of people after reduction in the rate of petroleum products.

All commissioners and DCOs were asked to submit a report on a daily basis regarding provision of petroleum products at newrates.
