THE quality of water is becoming worse day by day. On the way to Raiwand Road we come across the Hudiara drain and Sattu Katla drain which showed us a horrific scene: there is pitch-black water having foams of disease-causing waste.
Heaps and fumes of unbearable scent come out of the stream of water, which made us unable to stand there. I wonder how people are living and working in such an area. It seems to be an industrial area and the water further joins the mainstream after a few kilometres. According to a report, the ph of the water samples found in Hudiara drain had gone up from 7.2 to 8.
If the government ensures the safe and proper disposal of industrial waste, many people can be saved from hepatitis and cholera-like diseases.
