ISLAMABAD: Tennis star Aisamul Haq laid the foundation stone for a tennis court in Pakistan Sweet Homes on Tuesday.
Sweet Homes’ management announced that the court will be named after Aisam.
A colourful event was organised on the occasion. Children from the orphanage interacted with the tennis star and tried their hand at the sport.
Aisamul Haq pledged to support Sweet Home administration in the welfare of orphan children.
“We should do whatever we can for the betterment of these children. They are our real heroes,” he said.
He added that he will work on getting more people to support the orphanage.
The tennis star said there were no substitutes for having parents. However, he said, orphaned children should at least be given social cover and an environment that will help them become independent and in becoming assets to the society.
“I hope this tennis court will produce great tennis players, better than Aisamul Haq,” he said.
Patron-in-Chief of Pakistan Sweet Homes Zamurrad Khan appreciated the sportsman for taking out time to visit the children and for laying down the foundation stone.
