SAHIWAL: The whereabouts of 33 female Assistant Professors (APs) are unaccounted for in the Higher Education Department (HED) records, creating an obstacle to the promotion of their colleagues across various seniority lists.
Sources within the Directorate of Public Instruction (DPI), Lahore, revealed that a list of these missing APs has been shared with all divisional directorates to locate the college teachers. This situation raises concerns about the accuracy of the computerized records of approximately 20,000 college teachers working in over 800 public educational institutions across Punjab.
Ansar Azahr from DPI Colleges stated that the department is actively tracing the missing APs.
The list includes APssuch as Mariyam Farooq, Ummera Akhtar, Lubna Mustafa, Sobia Khan, Saima Tahir, Zila Huma, Nagina Jabeen, Humera Anwar, Abid Parveen, and Zartashia Noureen from Lahore; Azra Batool from Khanewal; Tabinada Sayed from Gujranwala; Sajida Batool from Sargodha; Khadija Nazir and Razia Khanam from Rawalpindi; Saima Mumtaz, Nighat Noureen, and Saima Riaz from Faisalabad; Asia Bano from Sheikhupura; Azra Tasneem from Bhakkar; and Uzma Rizvi from Lala Musa.
The HED is also unaware of the station postings of some APs, identifying only their subjects.
These include Tahreema Iftikhar, Razia Sarfaraz, Amina Umer, Sarwat Nazir, Shamim Akhter, Samina Arif, Sharafun Nisa, Kousar Parveen, Farhat Zohra, Imrana Mushtaq, Bushera and Aysha Tahir.
