LAHORE, Jan 30: Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif has said the metro bus service will be inaugurated on Feb 10.
The service will be free for four weeks after the inauguration.
Shahbaz said the bus fare would be kept within the reach of the common man, while an awareness campaign about the use of the facility would be started next week.
The chief minister was presiding over a meeting on Wednesday to review arrangements for the inaugural ceremony of the project where he also formed various committees for the purpose.
He said the mega project, including an eight-kilometre flyover, is being completed in a short span of 11 months with a modern system of electronic ticketing at stations as well as escalators for the convenience of the elderly and disabled.
He said only those elements were criticising the project who did not want welfare of the common man, but the Punjab government would continue with such development projects for the benefit of the people.
