Overcharging: 48 LPC staff penalised in 10 days

LAHORE: As the operation against overcharging is underway, the Lahore Parking Company (LPC) administration has penalized its workers / officials and some others by getting 48 cases registered against them on account of overcharging people at various parking lots and running illegal parking sites.

According to a spokesman for the company, many workers have also been removed from service from March 20 to 30 in the ongoing operation against overcharging.

`Lahore Parking Company (Le-Park) has launched a comprehensive crackdown on overcharging and illegal parking to address public complaints, especially during the Eid shopping rush. Several immediate measures have been taken to ensure transparency and strict enforcement,` reads a statement issued here on Sunday.

Le-Park, in collaboration with MCL, has deployed joint inspection teams in major markets and parking sites to curb overcharging and illegal parking practices.

To enhance transparency and facilitate citizens, 400 new uniforms/jackets have been provided to field staff. Each jacket is printed with the official complaint helpline 080010001 so that citizens can report any violations immediately.

A dedicated helpline has also been set up to register and address complaints related to overcharging and illegal parking. Citizens can now report any irregularities directly for immediate action.Staff Reporter
