LAHORE: The Mughalpura police lodged a First Information Report (FIR) against a sub-inspector (SI) and a constable for allegedly implicating a man in a fabricated drug case.
The police officials nominated in the FIR were identified as SI Allah Dita and Constable Mohammad Asif of the same police station.
A police official said the policemen had lodged a drug case against one Tariq Younis, in connivance with a local, Afzal.
He said Tariq, a property dealer, had a dispute with Afzal, as the latter had allegedly prepared fake documents of a property owned by the for-mer`s nephew.
Afzal contacted SI Allah Dita posted at the Mughalpura police station, who allegedly lodged a fake drug case against Tariq.
Later, Allah Dita and Asif arrested Tariq in a `raid`, showing drug recovery from his office.
The police official said Tariq approached Lahore DIG operations with a complaint who ordered an inquiry which found the SI guilty of the charges, he said, adding that later the fake case lodged against Tariq was discharged.
Following the findings of the inquiry, the DIG suspended the SI and the constable and ordered registration of a case against them for misuse of authority and misconduct.
