Overcharging: 48 LPC staff penalised in 10 days

LAHORE: As the operation against overcharging is underway, the Lahore Parking Company (LPC) administration has penalized its workers / officials and some others by getting 48 cases registered against them on account of overcharging people at various parking lots and running illegal parking sites.

According to a spokesman for the company, many workers have also been removed from service from March 20 to 30 in the ongoing operation against overcharging.

`Lahore Parking Company (Le-Park) has launched a comprehensive crackdown on overcharging and illegal parking to address public complaints, especially during the Eid shopping rush. Several immediate measures have been taken to ensure transparency and strict enforcement,` reads a statement issued here on Sunday. Le-Park, in collaboration with MCL, has deployed joint inspection teams in major markets and parking sites to curb overcharging and illegal parking practices.

To enhance transparency and facilitate citizens, 400 new uniforms/jackets have been provided to field staff. Each jacket is printed with the official complaint helpline 080010001 so that citizens can report any violations immediately.

A dedicated helpline has also been set up to register and address complaints related to overcharging and illegal parking. Citizens can now report any irregularities directly for immediate action.

LWMC: The Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) has launched extensive sanitation operations across the city to ensure a clean environment during Eidul Fitr.

Accordig to a spokesman, over 15,000 workers and more than 1,400 vehicles have been deployed in all three shifts, ensuring that sanitation efforts remain active even on Sundays. Special teams have been assigned to key locations, including commercial markets, bus terminals, and public spaces, where extra cleaning measures have been implemented.
