LAHORE: A high-level meeting held here on Tuesday with Chief Minister Shahbaz Sharif in the chair reviewed the performance of Punjab Land Record Authority and the future strategy, says a handout.
The CM accorded approval to making the record of ownership deeds (fard-e-malkiat) available online through official website. The meeting decided to curtail the role of patwari in revenue matters.
It also decided to launch a mobile service for the provision of ownership deeds and other revenuerelated documents. After the launch of mobile service facility, the citizens will get their revenuerelated documents at their doorstep.
Addressing the meet-ing, Sharif said ownership deeds could also be received from the branches of Bank of Punjab in future.
He said PLRA and BoP would enter into an agreement at the start of the next month.
Under the agreement, the counters of arazi centre will be opened at differentbranches[ofBoP].
He said ownership deeds acquired through online for the purpose of record would not be used for sale and purchase of properties.
The information about property would be provided at the ofhcial website of Land Record Management Information System and people would be able to access their [property] records through a latest system.
