LAHORE: The Punjab government has decided to establish the first technical and vocational educational university to providing the best education to skilled workers, says Education Minister Rana Mashhood.
Presiding over a meeting here on Tuesday, he said the technical and vocational education would also be introduced at the school level and 39 comprehensive high schools in different districts would also be converted into vocational training institutes.
He said technical education would also be introduced at Daanish Schools.
`Technical education will be included in the syllabi from class III to IV.
Vocational training programme starts from mid-dle school and goes up to university level in China.
This model will be adopted in Punjab and the necessary assistance of technical education commission of China will be solicited, he said.
Mr Mashhood said a Chinese delegation would visit Pakistan next month and faculty selection, research and syllabus could be finalised then.
`The Chinese experts will also train the faculty members,` he said.
Minister for Industries Sheikh Allauddin, Tevta Chairman Irfan Qaiser Sheikh, Punjab Skills Development Fund Chief Executive Officer Jawad Khan and the industries secretary were also present. Staff Reporter
