RAHIM YAR KHAN: Police have registered a case on Tuesday against Liaqatpur deputy district health officer (DDHO) for allegedly hurling life threats at a showroom owner, who also runs a local YouTube news channel.

According to the first information report (FIR) No 429/23 registered by Liaqatpur police station, complainant Bilal Arshad, who owns a car showroom and runs a local news channel on YouTube, said DDHO Dr Muhammad Irfan arrived at his showroom with one Zohaib and an unidentified armed man.

He said the intruders, turned harsh and aggressive during conversation and one of them, brandishing a Kalashnikov, hurled life threats at him.

Meanwhile, Bilal madea video of the entire episode and called on police helpline 15, alleging that the suspects threatened to kill him. He also uploaded the video on social media.

He said in the FIR that the suspects had a grudge against him as he had quarrelled with Dr Irfan two days back over a `journalistic issue`.

On the other hand, Dr Irfan also posted a video message on social media, accusing Bilal of being a criminal and a blackmailer.

He claimed that Bilal himself called him to his showroom on the pretext of showing him a car and later made a video clip to implicate him in a false case. He also claimed that the man accompanying him was holding a `toy gun`.

However, police registered a case against the DDHO and his accomplice under sections 506/B and 34 of the Pakistan Penal Code, on Bilal`s complaint.
