BADIN: Ali Hassan Hingorjo, special assistant to the chief minister for relief and rehabilitation, on Thursday expressed concern overflooding in Badin district due to failed drainage system.

Speaking to journalists after receiving a briefing on the post-rain situation in the district, Mr Hingorjo said he would prepare a report and present it to the chief minis-ter for appropriate action.

He said any of ficial found to be negligent or irresponsible would have to face the music.

Badin Deputy Commissioner Rafique Quraishi in his briefing said that the upperSindh districts of Ghotki, Khairpur and KandhkotKashmore were the worst-hit by the recent rains.

He said an assessment of losses was under way while the affected people were being rehabilitated.
