RAWALPINDI: A Rawalpindi court has sentenced a man to death and handed a 13-year prison term to his accomplice in a robbery-murder case registered in 2023.
Additional Sessions Judge Chaudhry Majid Hussain Gadi awarded the death penalty to Fahim Khan alias Fahim Baba for shooting an official of the Security and Exchange Commission of Pakistan, Adnan, during a robbery attempt, while Farooq Khan, his alleged partner, was acquitted of murder but convicted for robbery and possession of stolen property.
According to the prosecution, the incident occurred on May 11, 2023, when Adnan Naseer accompanied his father and brother to Malik Engineering in Rawalpindi to purchase a vehicle.
During their visit, two armed men attempted to snatch Adnan`s mobile phone. Upon resistance, the assailants fired four shots at him. Adnan sustained critical injuries and passed away after two months in the hospital in July.
