LARKANA:SindhMinisterfor Local Bodies Saeed Ghani has said that the local government commission will be made active and effective to address people`s issues on a priority basis.

He said at a press conference at Larkana press club after visiting differ-ent parts of the city on Thursday that the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) government would make sincere efforts to provide safe drinking water to population paired with improving, maintaining hygienic conditions and resolving transport problems.

`My responsibility is to stem illegal affairs in the department,` Mr Ghani said and conceded that majority of theemployees in local bodies were not punctual.

He warned them to be regular or face the music.

Hesaidthe departmentslikeLarkana Development Authority (LDA) were established but unfortunately the LDA remained non-functional.

The government was trying to revive them so as to achieve results, he said.
