PESHAWAR: The mineral development department is going to start receiving online applications from next month for issuing licences for making investments in the minerals sector of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The interested investors and panies could submit applications for leases from Nov 1, while the scrutiny of applications would be done in December. Formal launching of the licences would be staned from January 1, 2017.

The decisions to this effect were made at a high level meeting held here with provincial minister for mineral development and labour Anisazeb Tahirkheli in the chair on Sunday.

On the occasion, Ms Tahirkheli directed the department for early convening of a meeting of the mineral titles committee to give final approval to all arrangements and issue schedule for submission of applications. She also directed for ensuring transparent and error-free procedure in all phases.

The minister said a facilitation centre was also being established at the directorate of mines and minerals to facilitate investors in submission of applications. She said the applicants would be required to submit the token of online applications along with required documents, which would be scrutinised.

She said an attractive advertising campaign would be launched besides providing the interested investors with timely information in this connection.-Bureau Report
