PTI activists continue to leave GB for Islamabad `lockdown`

GILGIT: A large number of PTI activists from various districts of Gilgit-Baltistan continued to leave the region on Sunday to participate in the party`s `lockdown` of Islamabad on Wednesday.
They started moving to the federal capital in separate processions using the Karakoram Highway.
Five separate PTI rallies led by regional party chief organiser Raja Jalal, GBLA member Raja Jahanzab, deputy organiser Shah Nasir, Fatahullah and other party leaders had left GB on Sunday.Talking to reporters, Raja Jalal said thousands of party workers would participate in the Islamabad `lockdown`.
Although the activists are facing hurdles to reach Islamabad, they are determined to take part in the protest against corrupt rulers, he said. `Even if we have to travel by foot from GB to Islamabad, we are ready to do so to take part in the anti-corruption movement,` he added.
Dozens of party activists from Diamer started their march to Islamabad on cars and jeeps on Sunday, covering their heads with party flags and chanting slogans like `GoNawaz Go`.
Attig Advocate, a party activist, said PTI workers from Diamer would be at the forefront in the Islamabad protest.
A PTI rally from Gilgit had left Islamabad on Saturday under the leadership of Fatullah Khan, the party`s deputy organiser.
Similar rallies from Hunza, Nagar, Skardu and Ghizer districts left for Islamabad on Friday.
Javed Ali Manwa, PTI chief organiser in Nagar district, said GB workers would ensure maximum participation in the Nov 2 `lockdown`.Correspondent
