PESHAWAR: The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ehtesab Commission (KPEC) on Monday dismissed a petition against Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf MNA Ayesha Gulalai, saying the commission only probed corruption cases of over Rs5 million.
The commission said Ms Gulalai had been accused of misappropriating only Rs1.2 million.
The corruption petition was filed by her personal assistant, Noor Zaman, who was killed the other night at his native village in Lakki Marwat, on Aug 8, seeking inquiry against the lawmaker.
Zaman had claimed that Ms Gulalai had embezzled funds in construction of Bannu-Saddakhel Road.
It is to mention here that Election Commission of Pakistan has also dismissed a petition seeking disqualification of Ms Gulalai from the National Assembly, which was filed by PTI chairman Imran Khan after she leveled accusations against him. — APP
