LAKKI MARWAT: JUI-F tehsil councillor Hafiz Asif Saleem distributed wheelchairs among the persons with physical disability and sports kit among football players from Achukhel and Salarkhel villages here on Monday.

The function was held in Achukhel village, where local elders, players, members of sports clubs and youths, showed up in large numbers.

The representative of local bodies gave away wheelchairs and sports kits to villagers.

Councillor Hafiz Saleem said like urban population, villagers had an equal right to government resources and that the local government system had provided them with an opportunity to raise voice for their rights.

He complained that the successive governments had ignored special persons and players from remote rural areas to their misery.

`The villagers with disa-bility need the special attention of the local and provincial governments and therefore, special schemes should be launched for their development,` he said.

The councillor said sports person from rural areas were very talented and had exhibited their talents at various events but ironically, they didn`t get the required facilities and perks and privileges.

He said he would continue making efforts for the welfare of the people of the remote rural areas of the district, especially those with disability and sport persons.

MANKILLED:A school`s watchman was killed in Nar Mohammad Yar Sulemankhel village of Naurang town on Sunday night.

Mohammad Israr complained to the police that Mohammad Yousaf shot his brother, Mohammad Younis, dead when the latter was on night duty in the village`s government primary school, and fled.

The pouce booked the suspected killer and began investigation.
