LAHORE: Kite flying under the `Spring Festival` will be held at Changa Manga for a fortnight from Feb 21 to March 5, said Punjab Minister for Education, Tourism and Youth Affairs Rana Mashhood Ahmed Khan.
He announced this while presiding over a meeting held on Monday.
According to a handout, the minister informed the meeting that people from Lahore to Sahiwal along the GT Road would participate in the event, while foreign tourists were also invited. He said special trains would be operated from Lahore Cantt Railway Station to Changa Manga.
The meeting decided that citizens would be allowed to fly kites anywhere in Changa Manga, but two acres were being dedicated to a `corporate kite flying zone`.
Kite flyers would not be allowed to bring twines with them, as a `safe` string would be provided at the venue. Several recreational activities had also been planned for the festival
