LAHORE: The Punjab government has appointed the deans of Languages, Islamic and Oriental Learning and the Science of Technology at the Government College University.

The posts of deans of Languages, Islamic and Oriental Learning and Science of Technology had been lying vacant for the last eight and three years, respectively.

According to an official, GCU Vice Chancellor Prof Hasan Amir Shah after assuming the charge had moved a summary to the governor/chancellor through the Higher Education Department for the appointment of deans of both departments.

Prof Iqbal Shahid and Prof Islamullah Khan have been appointed dean of Languages, Islamic and Oriental Learning and Science of Technology, respectively.

GCU Academic Staff Association President Prof Dr Riaz Ahmad has also welcomed the appointments.
