LAHORE: The Punjab Finance Depanment accorded on Friday sanction to abolish 299 posts, including 36 district coordination officers, from district governments after the repeal of the Punjab Local Government Ordinance of 2001 and on the promulgation of Punjab Local Government Act of 2013.

The department also sanctioned the creation of 153 posts, including 36 deputy commissioners for new district administration setup under the Punjab Civil Administration Ordinance of 2016.

Similarly, 36 posts each of additional deputy commissioners of finance and planning, general and revenue and nine posts of ADCs (headquarters) have been created. Staff Reporter
