MULTAN: Two militants were sentenced to 28 years and hve years in prison on Wednesday by two anti-terrorism courts in Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan, respectively.

According to a CTD spokesman, convict Rashid Abbasi has been jailed for 28 years and convict Qari Tayyab for five years. Both have been also fined.

He said the Multan ATC convicted militantRasheed Abbasi for planning to launch an attack on personnel of law enforcement agencies in Multan.

He said a CTD team had arrested convict Abbasi with explosives. His trial lasted for about 6 months.

Another ATC in Dera Ghazi Khan convicted militant Qari Tayyab for five years for distributing hate material to incite people to violence. Staff Correspondent
