ISLAMABAD: The capital police have arrested 9 suspects from different area and also recovered weapons.
According to details, the Secretariat police conducted the search operation in various areas including Muslim Colony, Qauid-e-Azam University and other areas adjacent to Diplomatic Enclave, they added.
During the search operation 85 houses were scanned, details and identification of hundreds of people were verified.
Nine people were arrested on suspicion as they failed to produce their identification documents.
Besides, arms and ammunition along with a car and five motorcycles were also impounded.
SSP Islamabad Sajid Kiani said the purpose of the search operation was to ensure high vigilance in the city and every effort would be made to ensure protection to the lives and property of citizens.
He also appealed to the citizens to remain vigilant and inform police in case of any suspicious activity taking place around them.
Meanwhile, the capital police also arrested 50 beggars during the last 48 hours. Children caught by police while begging were shifted to shelter homes and protection centres for their proper upbringing. Staff Reporter
