Dir teachers demand promotion

TIMERGARA: Teachers representatives in a meeting here have apprised the lawmakers from the district of the problems being faced by the community and sought their help in convincing the government on their early resolution.

They demanded of the lawmakers to ask the government to issue a proper notification about the pledges it had made with the teachers` leaders regarding one-step promotion, charge allowance and sanction of Theology Teachers in government middle schools and elevation of posts.

Provincial finance minister Muzaffar Said, MPAs Saeed Gul and Izazul Mulk and Tanzeem-i-Asateza president Shafigur Reman attended the meeting.

Speaking on the occasion, the minister said that the government would resolve all genuine grievances of teachers. He said that he would raise the issues with the education minister and director schools.

Meanwhile, Tanzeem-iAsateza, Lower Dir, have announced to distribute school uniforms, bags and books among deserving students of the district in August.

The announcement was made in a meeting chaired by Shafigur Rehman. Correspondent
