SUKKUR: Two suspects were arrested after explosive material was found during a search of the car they were riding on Monday.

According to the Rohri police, a police team stopped a car near Jhangro Toll Plaza on the outskirts of Rohri town and carried out a search. The police checked the material, packed in six cartons being transported by the car, and found it to be explosive.

The two occupants of the car, later identified as Abdul Razzaq Dasti and Mujahid Dasti, were arrested and an FIR against them was registered, the police said, adding that the suspects intended to proceed to Karachi from Punjab.

Drivers protest

Drivers of motorcycle-driven carts took out a rally here on Monday against a ban on their vehicles.

Speaking to the media during a demonstration in front of the local press club, the protesters said that the authorities concerned should regularise their source of livelihood instead of rendering them without work.
