BAJAUR: Bajaur Aman Jirga, a body of local elders, politicians, social activists and traders, announced here on Tuesday to hold a peace rally today (Wednesday) against unrest in the region.

The decision was taken in a meeting of the jirga held in Civil Colony, Khar, with its chief Sahibzada Haroon Rashid in the chair. The meeting was held two days after a suspected quadcopter strike on a house in Inam Khoro China Gai area of War Mamund tehsil killed a nine-year-old boy and injured a woman.

MNA Mubarakzeb Khan, JUI-F`s Haji Said Badshah, PTI`s Dr Khalilur Rehman, PPP`s Shakeel Khan, local elder Khalid Khan, Khar Traders Association president Wajid Ali Shah, Mian Habib Gul and others addressed the meeting. They alleged that law and order in the district had been unsatisfactory for a long time, particularly over the last couple of years. They said that military operations were conducted in several areas against terrorists but no visible improvement in the situation was witnessed. Correspondent
