LAHORE: The Walled City of Lahore Authority (WCLA) organised a special guided tour titled Havelis of Lahore to showcase the historic mansions of walled city of Lahore.
The event featured visits to notable sites, including Mubarik Haveli, Haveli Wajid Ali Shah, Noori Building, Haveli Nau Nehal Singh, Naqash School of Arts, Fakir Khana Museum, Haveli Awais Mir and Haveli Barood Khana.
Since these havelis are privately owned and typically inaccessible to the public, the WCLA provided a unique opportunity for around 120 participants to explore these architectural treasures. The tour also included a Rangeela Rickshaw Ride and a cultural performance by the Garvi Group from Coke Studio Season 15, adding a festive touch to the historicalexperience. Participants were also treated to refreshments.
WCLA Direct General Kamran Lashari said, `Visitors to Lahore`s heritage sites have long been captivated by the historic havelis of Lahore, renowned for their rich architectural intricacies. Constructed during the Mughal, Silch, and British periods, these havelis offer a vivid representation of traditional lifestyles, street culture, and the social fabric of different historical eras.
